Food service worker hosted alcohol-fueled parties for students
A Falcon School District 49 food service worker accused of sexual assault on a minor is accused of throwing an alcohol-fueled party at her house and having sex with a student as others watched, according to court documents.
Tonya Harris, 34, was arrested last week on suspicion of having sex with a 17-year-old boy at a party in November 2012.
According to the affidavit in support of Harris’ arrest:
Sheriff’s deputies learned in February that Harris allegedly had sex with the teenager and a 20-year-old man at her home in Meridian Ranch in November.
The investigation was turned over to two detectives, who learned that Harris allegedly supplied alcohol to minors and was “dirty dancing” with boys during the party.
“However, there was no disclosure of criminal sexual activity between Ms. Harris and any minor in attendance at the party,” the document states.
The investigation was “inactivated” but then restarted when the sheriff’s office received a tip Aug. 16 on the Safe2Tell line. The line allows young people to report “threatening behaviors or activities endangering themselves or someone they know” while remaining anonymous.
On Aug. 20, a witness told sheriff’s deputies he was at the party and that Harris provided alcohol to minors.
During the party, Harris allegedly had sex with one of the partygoers while “numerous individuals” watched. It’s unclear whether the sex was with the 17-year-old because the arrest affidavit was heavily redacted.
Afterward, Harris went to her bedroom with the teen and a 20-year-old man and locked the door, the document states. The witness told investigators he forced the door open and that he and an unidentified person sat on the couch in the bedroom and kissed while Harris allegedly had a threesome with the teen and the man.
